Day 5 Blog

Listening to Tom McLaughlin today was very interesting. I learned a lot about the legislative processes that have contributed to teacher contracts and state legislation. You can definitely tell he is a union person and he would do anything in his power to make sure “his” people get what they want. He raised a lot of questions that made me think about all of the things you could do in negotiating contracts that could create problems for everyone involved if things were not done correctly. I think if you were a new person working against Tom in negotiations you would have a difficult time making sure you didn’t agree to something that could really cost your district.
