Jerry was very informative. I wish our group would have had access to all that information prior to starting our simulation process. I liked his common-sense approach that detailed both sides of the bargaining process with his real-life perspective and experience. The more I learn about collective bargaining, the more I want to be able protect the "relational" aspect in building and maintaining trust when I'm involved in this process. It seems that collective bargaining has the potential to do a lot of damage to the overall educational process. The last thing I would want to do as a superintendent would be to harm existing relationships and/or jeopardize future ones.
I also enjoyed the vehicle-purchasing scenario from the husband's and wife's perspective. It was a good way to liven things up at the end of the day.
