I thought the speaker had a lot of information. I would have really liked to hear some of the “War Stories” about negotiations. It was good to hear that there are lots of people, who do this all the time that make big mistakes across the bargaining table. It is important to realize that this feels like a game, but when you do this in real life, it is the difference between someone being able to provide for their family or not. This process is stressful, and should not be taken lightly. When I negotiated, I pictured one of the most “needy” teachers and used them as my motivation.
