Bargaining and Building Administrators

It's nice to see a mix of people who have had experience with collective bargaining and people who haven't. Even the experienced people will agree it's something that you are continually improving upon and learning new ideas which you can implement. One idea I particularly liked and have never experienced is bouncing new ideas for a contract off of your current building principals. Building principals are the major eyes and ears of a building and keep the superintendent continually updated. The principals may see something you don't and can head off problems ahead of taking them to the table. It also lets principals see what the major concerns or ideas of teachers are. It's an excellent way of keeping everyone informed without actually having to be at the table.
